TEAM XG RACING RETURNS TO JUNIOR SUPERSTOCK WITH THE VERWEY BROTHERS

Team XG Racing Kawasaki is gearing up for a 2021 assault on the Pirelli National Junior Superstock Championship as brothers Luke and Kade Verwey return to action.

The team will once again field a pair of Kawasakis for Luke, 22 and Kade, 20, who will tackle the fierce support class championship when the action kicks-off this summer after both riders were unlucky to pick up injuries which hampered their progress last season.

Following several months of recovery, both Luke and Kade are now keen to get back out and are looking forward to starting a pre-season testing programme in the next few weeks.

In 2020, both Luke and Kade made the step-up to 600cc power after two successful seasons in the Dickies British Junior Supersport Championship, where Kade finished runner-up after a taking the fight all the way to the final round.

Luke Verwey:
“I am so looking forward to the season! Coming back for a second year in Junior Superstock is going to be fantastic, I think it’s going to be a really great class this year and I’m excited to be part of it. I did get injured at the end of last year and I have had to take it a bit easy to ensure a full recovery. We sort of took last year as testing, with the shortened season and my injury, I didn’t feel like I got an opportunity to show what I could do. That’s all behind us now and I’m ready to go!”

Kade Verwey:

“I can’t wait for the season to start, it feels like so long since I was last on the bike. It’s been seven months but I’m finally getting back to fitness. I feel quite happy that the season doesn’t start until June because it means we can get a lot of testing in beforehand.

“We have plenty of testing lined up and I’m already feeling really confident. I’m almost finished at university so I’m going to be able to concentrate on my racing with no distractions this summer, which is brilliant. It’s looking like it will be a busy season, there’s a few back to back rounds and I am so excited. I feel like it’s going to be a good year. I really want to win, and that’s what I’ll be pushing for. Let’s see what we can do.”
